Returns
We accept returns within 5 days from the date of delivery for the following reasons only:
- Books received damaged during shipping.
- Books received in defective condition.
- Books that differ from what was displayed on our website (wrong cover or edition).
Please note: We do NOT accept returns for change of mind or personal preference reasons.
Return Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a return, your book must meet the following criteria:
- The return request must be initiated within 5 days of delivery.
- The book must be returned in its original condition (unless damaged upon receipt).
- Original packaging should be included when possible.
- You must provide your order details (order number and customer name).
Return Process
To initiate a return:

Reason for return
Photos of damaged/defective items (if applicable) - Package the item securely in its original packaging or suitable protective packaging.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the return is due to our error (wrong item sent or defective product received)
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item:
- We will notify you via email about the status of your return.
- If approved, refunds will be processed within 2-5 business days.
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method (card payments, Mintpay, Koko, bank transfer).
- For Cash on Delivery orders, refunds will be processed via bank transfer (you will need to provide bank details).
- Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider.
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable (unless the return is due to our error)
Exchanges
We offer exchanges only in the following circumstances:
- We sent you a book with a different cover than shown on our website.
- We sent you a different edition than what you ordered.
Exchange requests must be made within 5 days of delivery and are subject to stock availability.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Gift cards (physical and digital).
- Books returned after the 5-day return period.
- Books returned due to change of mind or personal preference.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your book arrives damaged or defective:
- Contact us immediately with photos of the damaged item.
- We will arrange for a replacement or full refund at no additional cost to you.
- Return shipping will be covered by ChapterHouse.lk in these cases.
Cancellation Policy
- Orders can be cancelled for any reason before shipping.
- Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
- To cancel an order, contact our customer service team immediately with your order details.
- Full refunds will be issued to the original payment method for cancelled orders.
Free Shipping Policy
We offer free island-wide shipping on orders above Rs. 6,000. For orders below this amount, standard shipping charges apply.
Processing Timeline
- Return inspection: 1-2 business days after we receive your item.
- Refund processing: 2-5 business days after approval.
- Refund appearance in account: 5-10 business days (depending on payment method)
